    • Childcare for Town Meeting

      General Discussion...
      Pat asked to have Child care for Town Meeting and the Fire Dept. put on the agenda to address a couple last minute concerns. She wanted to ask that $450 be set aside from the Select Board account to pay for child care, provided by the afterschool staff at the Leverett School, for Town Meeting.

      MOTION, moved by Melissa Colbert, seconded by Patricia Duffy: Motion: To fund up to $450 for child care from the Select Board account for child care at Town Meeting. Vote: 3-0 in favor.

      Pass: Aye: Melissa Colbert, Patricia Duffy, Tom Hankinson.

    • Fire Dept. FY '24 budget request

      General Discussion...
      Pat also wanted to make sure that everyone was okay with the Fire Chief full-time hours request be left in the budget and not moved to be an article. There was general confidence that since it has been discussed at length in meetings that if someone at Town Meeting wants to ask questions that it will be held. A reminder to the Moderator about holding items for discussion was also suggested. Ann D. thought that moving it to the warrant as an article at this late date might be confusing.

    • 1:00: Energy Committee-residential aggregation

      Energy Aggregation (Also in attendance: Mark Capadona and Denise Allard from Colonial Energy Group)
      The Select Board meeting was called to discuss new pricing as part of Leverett’s joining an expanded energy aggregate. Fifteen towns will meet next week to decide on a supplier and term for electricity, all towns in the aggregation must agree on supplier and term and then can choose more specific “products” for their town’s needs.
      Mark and Denise answered several questions. Expected default price which is about .14, which is lower than Eversource will be. The group agreed to continue to offer 100% National Wind green option as our default and the 100% MA Recs our most green and expensive option. Our third of MA requirement + 25% REC was also an option.

      MOTION, moved by Melissa Colbert, seconded by Patricia Duffy: Motion made to author Tom to commit for the town at the joint meeting. Seconded. Vote: 2-0 in favor.

      Pass: Aye: Melissa Colbert, Patricia Duffy, Tom Hankinson.
